Fernando de Castilla Antique Palo Cortado was
the joint top scorer
at the Drinks Business Fortified Masters Awards, and one of only two wines to
be awarded the coveted title “Master”, scoring over 95 points from a panel made
up of master sommeliers, masters of wine and senior wine buyers tasting blind.
The Fernando de Castilla Classic PX took a silver medal.
A blog and review on all things Sherry. It is about tasting, enjoyment and learning more about the World’s Finest Wine. "Sherry is a thoroughbred" as Javier Hidalgo rightly puts it. Included are the amazing local Brandies and the remarkably good table wines also produced in the province of Cádiz.

Hi. Do you know, when the decision is made of when the sherry is transferred to a palo cortado solera? For exaple what makes the difference of amontillado and palo cortado? Is a palo cortado the same thing but spent more time in a solera than an amontillado? And how is this decision made physically, i mean when and from where is the wine transferred to palo cortado criadera?
